Kids’ FIRST’s Volunteer Coordinator, Emily, joined our staff in September of 2014, after spending more than a year as an intern and then as a volunteer victim advocate.

Emily recruits, trains and supervises the Kids’ FIRST corps of 20-25 volunteers. In addition, she provides direct victim advocacy and community outreach, and coordinates the Parent Education and Support Group. Before working for Kids’ FIRST, Emily spent two years as a personal support worker for Developmental Disabilities Services of Lane County, where she cared for children with special needs.

A native Oregonian, Emily received a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Human Services from the University of Oregon in March 2014. She completed Kids’ FIRST victim advocate training in September 2013 and the Springfield Police Department’s Citizen’s Police Academy in June 2014.
