Ways You Can Make a Difference
Want to help but just don’t have the time to volunteer? Please consider a financial gift.
The Kids’ FIRST Center of Lane County opened in 1994, and while our staff and the services we provide have grown, and demand for our services has risen dramatically, our facilities and financing have not kept pace. For these and other reasons, donations of time, money or services are gratefully accepted.
Since the Center opened, the victim population we serve annually has grown from 150 to 700 children. Our current office space is simply no longer adequate to meet the needs of staff and the families we serve. Staff members share office space, our kitchen is too small, and we lack sufficient conference and workroom space, among many other issues.
Plans are in the works for a new Center, and we have acquired the land and more than half the money necessary to build it. The rest of the money (approximately $500,000) will have to come from grant and private funding sources. Funds are also needed to supplement our current grant funding to pay for staff positions and support education and training programs for law enforcement, health care professionals and personnel from the Department of Human Services Child Welfare Program.
To help us meet our needs, so we can continue meeting the needs of child abuse victims, please contact us at 541.682.3938. Your donations of time, money or services (such as carpet and/ or upholstery cleaning, window washing, etc.) will make a difference to us and the children we serve.
